Bear Grylls and Duke of Kent congratulate Milnrow leader for Queen's Scout award.
On Sunday, April 28th Alexander Wedgwood was one of 300 people to parade at Windsor castle after achieving his Queen’s Scout award. He shook hands with Bear Grylls (Chief Scout), Tim Kidd, (Chief Commissioner) and paraded past Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent (& president of The Scout Association). Alexander is the only attendee from the Greater Manchester North county this year.
Alex said: “Scouting has helped me grow as a person and develop many skills that I'm now passing onto the next generation of young people.”
He has recently completed his leadership training to be a Beavers Scout Leader, has been made District Youth commissioner for Pennine and only last May achieved his Duke of Edinburgh Gold, being presented with that by HRH Prince Edward. He is currently at Chester University where he also now helps with the Chester scouts and has been though the appointment process to be a joint Scout leader there starting in October.
